Short answers about how Whakarite works for patients and therapists.
Will therapists see my name?
Not while your listing is on the anonymous board. Your name, phone, and email are only shared after you accept an offer and match with a therapist.
What do I pay?
Patients are never charged a Whakarite platform fee. Session fees and any cancellation policy are set by your therapist after you match. Therapists pay a $50 NZD platform fee only after they confirm that you both agreed to continue working together after the first session.
What if I don’t get offers?
A typical wait is a few days. Keep your listing accurate (location and online vs in person), and stay open to offers. You can edit or cancel your listing anytime from your dashboard.
How do I accept an offer and unlock contact?
When a therapist offers times, choose one slot and accept. That creates your appointment and unlocks messaging plus contact details for both of you. Other pending offers on that listing are declined.
What if I need to change the time?
Before you accept, you can ask the therapist to propose new times. After you match, message them to rearrange. Cancellation policies after match are between you and your therapist.
